Chick-fil-A has recently introduced a new menu item, the Honey Pepper Pimento Chicken Sandwich. The sandwich is a Southern-style take on their Original Chicken Sandwich, and it’s available for a limited time. In this review, we’ll take a closer look at the sandwich and see if it’s worth trying.
The Honey Pepper Pimento Chicken Sandwich includes an original Chick-fil-A filet, pimento cheese, pickled jalapeños, and a bun drizzled with honey. The sandwich is meant to evoke both sweet and spicy flavors, which is a trend that’s hitting menus and palates around the country.
As soon as I opened the box, I was greeted by the scent of piping hot chicken, jalapeños, and pimento cheese. The sandwich is placed in a parchment sleeve inside of the box it comes in, which comes in handy for this one. My sandwich came with a lot of pimento cheese, and it positively oozed out of the sandwich when I took a bite. There was a lot of pimento cheese, but it wasn’t overwhelming.
The Honey Pepper Pimento Chicken Sandwich tasted delicious. The combination of sweet honey and spicy jalapeños was perfect. The pimento cheese added a creamy texture to the sandwich that complemented the chicken well. However, it was hard to eat more than half of it in one sitting without feeling like I needed a nap. They didn’t scrimp on the rich pimento cheese mixture, and I thought that traditional Southern flavor was the dominant one in the sandwich.
The price of the Honey Pepper Pimento Chicken Sandwich is $6.75 per sandwich. However, my delivery order ran me $12.75 for a meal with waffle fries and a drink. While the price of the sandwich didn’t bother me due to my preference for specialty products, it’s worth considering.
Overall, Chick-fil-A’s Honey Pepper Pimento Chicken Sandwich is worth trying if you enjoy sweet and spicy flavors. The combination of honey and jalapeños is perfect, and the pimento cheese adds a creamy texture to the sandwich that complements the chicken well. However, it’s not something you can eat every day due to its richness. If you’re looking for something new to try at Chick-fil-A, give this sandwich a chance.
